DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, Basel

I was part of this production at Theater Basel for the 2025–2026 season. This staging of Die Zauberflöte, originally created by Simon McBurney in 2013, expands Mozart’s opera with additional performative roles. I was part of a group of physical performers on stage who amplify the dramatic action and accompany the singers throughout the piece. In addition, I created live sound effects on stage, visible to the audience in a Foley-inspired approach. This layer of sound becomes an integral part of the theatrical language, bridging gesture, movement, and acoustic presence. I was coached by the Foley artist Ruth Sullivan, who previously performed the role.
